Day 51

Today was the last day of Frocktober. Initially I thought doing Frocktober would lead to a backlash of me not wearing dresses for most of November, but I think if anything it has taught me the versatility of the dresses that I own. I quite like dresses. I also quite like that I have raised, to date, $640 to go towards research into Ovarian Cancer.

Day 50

Today Spike took me to the Zoology lab to look at a fish tank full of shells and anemones and starfish and  other beautiful things. The little girl that wanted to be a marine biologist in me came alive and I stared mesmorised for about 20 minutes while spike picked up and poked and prodded various things. Universities really are amazing places.

Day 49

I love Binny! She is beautiful. This is her making a really silly face and it is testament to how good a friend she is that she was willing to make ridiculous faces for me while I experimented with mirrors in my room. And then she lets me put them on the internet!

Day 48

"Cecelia as you keep talking any desire I had to kiss you is dramatically falling."
Harsh. Apparently talking about my experiences eating wombat poo can be a real turn off for some guys.*

*Kissing was never on the cards in the first place. Don't stress.

Day 47

I challenged myself today. You see, I am really camera shy. Not the normal kind of camera shy where I don't want photos taken of myself. No, I don't like people seeing me take photos. Today I took photos in public (albeit reasonably secluded public) and it was the power of my fancy ass looking camera that gave me strength. It wasn't so scary after all. People walking past don't ask questions and they really don't like to stare, so all you have to do is look at them and smile and they look away embarrassed.
This photo was my favourite of all the pictures I took because despite what it looks like, it wasn't super posed. I was sick of taking pictures but I had already clicked the ten second timer so I just sat down and ignored it till it took the photo.












I went to church with Rainbow and Ashray. It was an eclectic group but I had such a good time!

Day 46

My day started with me making a used pad outfit for someone and ended with me sitting in a park in Clayton at midnight watching two plovers make love. Weird day.

Day 45

There was a lot good about today. tequila sunrise. castle day. there was friends, jumping castle, food, alcohol, although I didnt partake. and everybody was dancing and there was naked. why did chop rip his shirt open? Jono did a backflip and he was amazing, that should be in this post. keyur lasted two seconds on the mechanical bull, although to be honest, probably not that long.
This is my day as told by the half asleep people lying around my room. SO TIRED!

Day 44

I have a remote! Now, i'm not saying that a remote is the ONLY reason that I got a DSLR, but i'd be lying if I said it wasn't in my top 3.

Day 43

Today is one of those days that makes it impossible for me to talk about only just one thing.
I finally got my DLSR! I could talk all day only about that but then you wouldnt know that I used it as an incentive to study for a really long time, and that the fire alarm went off so we escaped to mcdonalds. That we had our very last formal dinner that is set up harry potter style and How living with 20 other girls means we can all share dresses and jewellery and consult each other. And that they announced the superfloor competition and TOP EAST WON! And that after two years of wearing thongs to Dooleys I finally got turned away and how I changed and got in and danced the night away with my friends. How an american astrophysicist bought me a tequila shot and how I have impeccable decision making skills. how I scored a free Kebab and went for a rainy walk with an amazing friend and how I put someone to bed and it started a lot of rumours. These are the things you wouldnt get to hear about if I limited myself to only talking about one interesting fact of my day.

Day 22

You should never take painkillers too close together. In other news, I am possibly the worlds neatest vomiter. 

Day 21

Cecelia: We are running around a public park in Clayton with bare feet in falling darkness, how do you feel?
Binny: YOLO-y!
Binny and I went for a 2 hour ..walk? walk is too boring a word, we went on an adventure! we walked to a park and played on play equipment for a long while, then we did an odd triangular blocky, complete with creepy snapchats of sams house, then we went to the top of the menzies and looked into my bedroom window and took photos, then we visited Sam and Earl and then Jay-ran back to mannix.
Maybe its the exercise, but I have had the most encouraging and productive study day today!

Day 40

I think I have become more zen in my young age. Before I used to want to scream and cry and throw things when my computer/ sewing machine/ telephone/ family member wasn't doing what I wanted it too. But now I have come to accept that if I walk away, give it space, turn it off and on again and say loving things (that last one mostly works with the sewing machine), then it will run smoothly.
A word of warning: if you stare at my eyes for too long they get hella creepy.

Day 39

Someone asked me today if I am feeling nostalgic about college because its drawing to a close. I haven't been feeling nostalgic, I have mostly been excited by the prospect of moving into a house next year and doing all the things I cant at college (cook, play sport, sleep, have a vege patch, go out for coffee). As I look at today's photo, of the mixture of friendship groups all relaxing together, of the variety of food that was being eaten and of the complete lack of needing to do anything or be anywhere, I feel a bit of that nostalgia creeping in. I am definitely going to miss college.

Day 38

Uuurrrgghhhhh!! I am sick. On the plus side I don't have gastro (yet). People at college are dropping like flies. Do you ever have one of those days that are good, and yet small sucky things happen? that was yesterday, I swore that I ran into about 30 red lights going to Uni and back. Today was the opposite, I felt crappy all day, but my all time favourite episode of 'say yes to the dress' was on, it lifted my spirits and restored my faith in humanity.*
Fun fact: in my journey to University and back, there are 46 sets of traffic lights.

*yes, it is possible for a wedding dress show to be inspirational. don't judge it till you've seen it.

Day 37

Past Cecelia is currently current Cecelia and current Cecelia has a dilemma about whether or not future Cecelia is going to think Past Cecelia is thoughtless moron.
Should I stay up and make memories, or should I go to bed to stave off my oncoming cold?

Day 36

Tonight was committees first, and as I enjoyed my last JCR function I thought a few things that I would like to share with you. the first is a terrible realisation that I had; None of my friends know the words to wannabe, by the spice girls. Why? because they were all born in the mid 90's! its unacceptable.
The second is a moment in time that I love. It is the point in the evening when everyone one has either passed out, or are shredding up the D-Floor, and the girls bathroom is left blissfully quiet. why girls feel the necessity to squeal as loudly as they can in a confined space is beyond me, but that moment of silence is made all the more sweeter for it.

Day 34

I like being single. No really, I do. There are lots of benefits, most of which I don't really take full advantage of, but regardless, I find it an enjoyable state to be in. There is just sometimes, and I dont know if its stress, tiredness or cold weather that brings it on, but all I want is a snuggle. Nothing suss, just to curl up with a nice boy and watch a movie with his arms wrapped around me.

Day 33

According to Sam, the force required to knock someone off their feet away from a blast, would definitely kill them. It's little facts like this that make James Bond movies harder to enjoy. Nonetheless, when an assignment is finished, there is nothing like sitting back and enjoying some attractive violence.

Day 32

Day 31

What a day of beds! I woke up in my bed, shortly after which Nick and Binny joined me in my bed. I then took a midday nap in Binny's bed whilst her and Liz studied on my bed. After giving up on my assignment I curled up in Ben's bed with Fred and watched him shoot things in GTA5. Later I helped Nick pack by lying on his bed. I came back to my room to find Binny now IN my bed and Liz sitting on the end of my bed.

Day 30

These last weeks of semester, as I may have previously mentioned, is when Uni and College band together and junk punch everyone (figuratively, of course.)
All the assignments are due and the parties are more hectic than a night at Jay gatsby's.
Today epitomised this phenomenon perfectly. I got up at 8.30 and worked on an assignment for 6 hours, took a sneaky nap and then partied till 1am. Tomorrow the whole cycle will be repeated!

 

Day 29

The weather right now is so perfect that it is 11.46pm and instead of wanting to go to sleep I am sitting on the catwalk writing an essay with Binny and discussing life with Keyur (Keyur came after the photo was taken). I love the catwalk. I know that most people would just think of it as a walkway but for me it was one of the things that most attracted me to Mannix when I first came. Tomorrow it is being permanently closed for construction, so it will never be the same again, and that makes me a little bit sad.

Day 28

Ahh the sadistic tradies are at it again! I get that they need to use a giant machine to pour concrete right outside my window, and that doesnt bother me at all, what I don't get, is why they honk the horn every 10 minutes! WHYYYYY?? not only are they my incidental alarm, they are my incidental snooze button as well! In other news, I wrote approximately 1000 words today! A mammoth effort and close to one of my best ever.

Day 27

So I am in bed studying and stressing and there is a knock at the door. My friend walks in and without saying anything, takes my Laptop off me, gives me a big long hug, gives me back my laptop and leaves. As he is shutting the door he says 'I just thought you might need a hug.'

THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY LIFE!

Day 26

I am at a party right now, the joys of a smartphone! The best thing about this party is the fact that I am sitting next to Colin, who is one of my favourite people! The worst thing is that I am so stressed I can't even comprehend this coming week. Ten bucks says that there will be a foetal position picture within the next few days

Day 25

It is so frustrating when you know what you want, and because of a myriad of reasons, its not possible to realise it. This photo is an example of that.
I made Emme's dress, we are going to a 70's themed Party tonight.
actually you know what, its not that bad. I think I need to be less harsh on myself.

Day 24

And the worst daughters of the year award goes to Cecelia and Emmeline, for coming home eating magnums and not buying Dad one. It was like watching a puppy's face when you get the leash out for a walk and then change your mind and go inside instead.

day 23

Yep, today's photo is blurry. whatchya gonna do about it? stop reading  my blog? please don't. I am getting a beautiful new camera soon! actually, if you just dont enlarge it, it looks fine! the guy who fixed my knee today (its still a bit buggered from the hike) told me not to jump on the trampoline. haha as if thats going to happen!

Day 22

Today is one of those really annoying days where I get lots of really cool diverse photos and I cant decide which to upload. So lets do a cross, I will do a caption that pertains to one photo but actually show you a different photo which is again different to the one I made my cover photo because I love it.
I took public transport in Wang for the first time today, it was great! It only cost $1.10 and the bus driver just took me at my word that I was concession, also I was the only person on the whole bus, so I could sit anywhere and everywhere!

Day 21

Day 21! Today is age day!
Today is also the 1st of October and this october I am participating in 'Frocktober!'
I will wear only dresses for the month of october to try and raise money for ovarian cancer research.
