after formal dinner we were invited to listen to Dr Andreas Fouras talk about his collaborative work with Ed (who has a fancy title but last semester he lived at Mannix as an academic researcher and was so loved by all that he has been lovingly abbreviated to just Ed.).
Basically these guys have combined aerospace engineering and medicine to find innovative and comprehensive way of looking at how the lungs work. The work that these guys are doing world leading and it is so exciting to see the ways that it could and probably will impact on the world of medicine.
I can't even articulate how cool it is that I have the opportunity to hear about these things in my own home!
