Day 20

Tonight is dinner with the aunties and un-uncle. I am so contented with the wonderful company, conversation and a particularly tasty boob shaped chocolate cake that is sitting in my belly.
Internet woes have forced me to get creative with uploading the picture..

Day 19

You know you're having one of those days when your car breaks down, you miss a train because you are on the wrong side of the platform and then you get locked out of your house with the real possibility of wetting your pants. On the plus side, my car got me to a lovely party, the public transport got me safely home and I have pelvic floor muscles of steel.

Day 18

Here are things that confuse me: Does a week have 6 or 7 days? is Australia Day the 25 or 26th? is 1600 8pm? no, 4pm? My birthday is the 12th of September. No. shit! the 11th!
Hawthorn won the grand final today against Freo and I cried at the end of The Great Gatsby.

Day 17

I learnt something today. Apparently it is possible to play king Mao without screaming the absolute house down. Christmas evenings with the Christians family as a child had me convinced that in order to successfully play this game you needed an eidetic memory, the vocal projection of a broadway star and a complete disregard for anyone who might want to be sleeping within 10kms.

Day 16

I get the worst period pain in the history of the universe. Hyperbole? I think not.
By the time I have taken enough of a concoction of painkillers to effectively numb the pain I am so out of it that for safety's sake, bed is my only viable option. There is a really adorable picture of me curled up in the foetal position in bed snuggling a 5 kilo open tub of nutella dipping a stick of chocolate into it and for most of the day that was all I seemed capable of. Luckily at about 10pm I reached the perfect equilibrium of enough painkillers to have only a regular amount of pain and not enough painkillers to make me fall asleep or fall over, I seized this perfect moment and decided to take some pictures. Take note of my awesome moustache dress, I made it.

day 15

I just went to the most inspiring talk!
after formal dinner we were invited to listen to Dr Andreas Fouras talk about his collaborative work with Ed (who has a fancy title but last semester he lived at Mannix as an academic researcher and was so loved by all that he has been lovingly abbreviated to just Ed.).
Basically these guys have combined aerospace engineering and medicine to find innovative and comprehensive way of looking at how the lungs work. The work that these guys are doing world leading and it is so exciting to see the ways that it could and probably will impact on the world of medicine.
I can't even articulate how cool it is that I have the opportunity to hear about these things in my own home!

Day 14

I have encountered a problem, my life is too interesting! #firstworldproblems
I need to start uploading my photo earlier on in the day otherwise too many things happen that  I want to talk about.
If I had uploaded at 8.30 I would have made some witty comment about the likelihood of me having accidentally swallowed some metal, and how that was a concern whilst I was getting an MRI.
If I had uploaded at 12.30 I would have talked about how I got to shave my name and a love heart into Keyur's Beard (beard art has always been of great interest to me, just ask Patto)
If I had uploaded at 4.30 I would have waxed lyrical about the most amazing dress that I made today and how dress making is a symptom of stress. (also for anyone wondering about the state of my mental health, I have made 3 dresses this week alone.)
If I had uploaded at 11.30 I would have had a massive rant about *Aus Top Model spoiler alert* the Horrific Australia's next top model final that Shanali DIDNT WIN!! I would have ranted about people who give spoilers and I would have told you about how we all mended our broken hearts with nutella toasties.
But now it is 12.30 and all I'm going to say that I am sleepy.
